Oshkosh contracts with the Garden County Sheriff's Office for police protection in the community. The Garden County Sheriff's Department is comprised of four sworn officers and seven support personnel. Regular patrol provides protection to exisiting industries.

Oshkosh has a nine-member planning commission. Each member is appointed by the mayor and council for a three-year term:
