Lisco Recreation
Lisco has one public tennis court, a park with plenty of shade and picnic tables, and a very nice playground area.
The North Platte River offers wonderful fishing, particularly in the spring and summer months, and great hunting opportunities!
Lisco and all Garden County are renowned for hunting-particularly game birds. A number of
area lodges offer commercial hunting packages.
Deer, antelope, pheasants and doves offer outdoorsmen much activity in the off-waterfowl
seasons!
Just 26 miles north is the Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge. This 46,600-acre
refuge is operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and is part of a nationwide system
established for the preservation of waterfowl. The Refuge is becoming a mecca for
birdwatchers and provides great fishing and limited hunting opportunities.
The Oregon and Mormon Trail traverse the entire county with ruts visible in many areas.
Birdwatching is popular in Garden County, having the third highest known count of different species documented in the U.S.
