City Park

The Village of Lewellen boasts a beautiful city park, complete with the best equipped playground in the area! Playground equipment includes, swings, teeter-totters, slides, merry-go-rounds, childrens rocking animals and monkey bars.

Shaded picnic tables and a barbecue pit make a perfect place for a family outing, family reuinions and social gatherings.

The swimming pool is FREE for the entire family, and open daily.

North Platte River

The North Platte River offers many forms of recreation. Fishing from the Lewellen Bridge in the long lazy summer evenings is relaxing and rewarding!

The river offers habitat to many species of fish, fowl, and wildlife. Boating and rafting, hunting, fishing and bird watching are opportunities for outdoorsman, photographers and artists.

Ash Hollow State Park

Nearby Ash Hollow State Park offers picnic areas, hiking, exploring, and a visitors center. The 1,000-plus acres that comprise the park is home to the old soddy school house, windlass hill, and Ash Hollow Cave.

A Nebraska State Park Entry Permit is required to enter the park. Grounds are open year-round, 8:00 a.m. to sunset

Lake McConaughy

Just 10 minutes from Lewellen, Lake McConaughy in neighboring Keith County is offers Lewellen residents and visitors beaches compared to the white sands of Hawaiian beaches, camping, water sports, hunting, fishing, wind-surfing, boating, bird watching, swimming, scuba diving, picnics, back-packing, hiking, and in winter, ice-fishing and ice-skating.
