What our office does.

The Garden County Veterans Service Office provides assistance, information and advice to veterans and their families regarding benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Who is eligible for admission into one of four Nebraska State Veterans Homes?

Honorably discharged war period veterans who have lived in Nebraska two years some time in the their lives and their wives, widows, gold star mothers and fathers.

Who is eligible for help from the Nebraska Veterans Aid fund?

Veterans who served on active military duty for other than training purposes who are currently residing in Nebraska and this pertains to both war time and peace time veterans.

Educational benefits and On The Job training benefits

Vocational rehabilitation benefits for service connected veterans

Corrections of military discharge papers

Burial benefits

VA grave markers

Enrollment in VA Medical centers and yearly re-certifications

Claims for consideration for emergency medical treatment under the Millennium Health Care Bill

Assist in working up appeals on VA claims which applicant disagrees with

Assist in any problems veterans may be having with their government life insurance policies to include changes in beneficiaries, changing coverage, making claims against policy to cash them in or make loans against them and to assist beneficiaries in making claims against policy

Change of address

Direct deposit of veterans benefits

Requesting copies of military discharge papers & other military papers
