Regular Meeting Minutes
November 16, 2006
The Chamber met at the SnS Restaurant with 16 members attending. President Carol Lake called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM.
Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed. Tricia Davison moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Josh Henne. Motion carried.
There was no Treasurer's report.
Mike Sullivan introduced guests: Gary & Alaina Tanner of Tanner Coatings and Collision.
Old Business:
- CVA Tourism Film opportunity looks very encouraging. The deadline to participate has been extended to December 1, as local officials and Chamber representatives look into funding. The cost is $3,100.00
- Christmas Party will be January 19 at the 17 Ranch Winery (Bruce & Ellen Burdick) in Lewellen. There will be a white elephant gift exchange.
- Nominating Committee Report - Still looking for persons willing to serve as 2nd Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. If you are interested, please contact Nathan Loyd, President-Elect or Josh Henne. Elections will be held January 18.
Committee Reports::
- Greg Stanfield, Garden County High School and Junior High School principal updated us on school events including: Future Business Leaders Association (FBLA) chapter being organized, class food drive competitions, "Christmas Tree Lane"- trees decorated by students and donated to needy families, Junior High School Store, and thanking the community for their contributions to the schools.
New Business:
- Carol thanked current officers and members for their support during the past two years. Special recognition certificates were presented to Buddy Paulsen, Pat Ainsworth and Gladys Arnett for going the extra mile and behind the scenes contributions. Mike Sullivan thanked Carol for her service as President.
- Jack Nerud advised the 20th anniversary of Farm & Ranch Day is January 24, 2007.
- Mike Sullivan reported soup suppers will be held on the following dates (Mondays):
November 24 Garden County 4-H
December 4 St. George's Episcopal Church
December 11 Oshkosh Senior Center
December 18 Garden County Cheerleaders
There will be NO meeting in December.
