Regular Meeting Minutes

Nathan Loyd opened the meeting of the Garden County Chamber of Commerce May 24th at 6:30 P.M. Minutes from the last meeting were approved and the Treasurers report was read. New members, Tim Dietlein and Pete Marshall of Sandhills Sicle Supply were recognized.

It was stated, concerning the airport authority, that new taxi lights at the airport would be installed and up and running by July or August. It was also mentioned that within the next two years an extra 300 feet of runway would be added to accommodate airplane insurance regulations.

Don Bentley, speaking for the Tourism Committee, expressed an interest in the "Target" program and its' ability to address tourism expansion. Don is going to see if a representative from the Target Program would be available to speak at next month's Chamber Meeting.

Terry McCord represented the County Commissioners. Saturday, June 16th is the Open House at Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

The raffle for $600.00 in Chamber Bucks is now underway! Stop in at local merchants to purchase your tickets. They are 1 ticket for $5.00 or 5 tickets for $10.00! First prize is $400.00 in Chamber Bucks, 2nd place will receive $100.00 in Chamber Bucks, and 2 $50.00 Chamber buck prizes will be awarded to 4 lucky raffle winners! Remember if you don't buy a ticket you can't win!

The 4th of July street dance is set for Tuesday, July 3rd. This years' 4th of July celebration theme will be; "An American Tradition".

The meeting was adjourned at 7:55. The next Chamber of Commerce meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 20th. Pleas not the date change! The location will be announce at a later date.
