Regular Meeting Minutes
May 18, 2006

The Chamber met at Garden County High School on May 18.

The meal was catered by Korner Kitchen. Thanks for a great meal!

President Carol Lake called the meeting to order at 6:42 PM.

Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed. Janet Shaul moved to accept, seconded by Josh Henne. Motion carried.

Bonnie Eckles presented the Treasurer's report.

There being no old business, the meeting moved into committee reports and other informational items.

July 4 preparations are well underway. The theme this is year is "Have a 'HeyDay' in Garden County!" .Scoot out in your best western boots and enter your float in the parade. An application is available online at www.gardencone.com/chamber/downloads.htm. Help is needed to prepare menus for the dance concession, please contact Carol Lake at 772-4500 for more information.

A new fireworks stand has been built by the Oshkosh Lions Club. Kudos for the great job! Volunteers are needed to sell fireworks. Again, contact Carol if you are interested in helping out.

Trish Davison is putting together a car show in conjunction with the July 4 activities and hopes to make this an annual event.

Dr. Paula Sissel gave a briefing of school activities. Changes are coming with new staff hires and reorganization. She is very excited about the future of Garden County Schools.

Next months agenda includes presentations from Girl's State representatives and July 4 preparations.

Next Meeting: June 15, 6:30 PM - S n S Café.

Regular meeting adjourned for Bird Flu program. Panhandle Public Health District representatives Kim Engel and Melody Leisy presented the program. A news release has been prepared and is being published in the Garden County News. If you have any questions, please contact Melody at 308-262-2217.
