Old Business was discussed.
The Tourism Committee is still seeking a replacement for Don Bentley. If anyone is interested, please let him know.
There was $673.15 raised/donated for the 4th of July program at the primary elections. Thanks to all who helped and donated and to Terri O'Brien for getting everything all set up.
New Business:
Scholarships: Dr. Newman reported on the Garden County Scholarships that Chloe Olson was presented with the $500.00 scholarship; Dan Vincent received the $250.00 scholarship and Sarah VanNewkirk was alternate. Garden County High School and Dan Vincent each sent a thank you for the scholarships.

Tourism: On June 18th, there will be a tourism assessment from (TARGET) that will help with ideas on getting people interested in visiting Garden County. There will be a report sent back after the assessment. They will go to Crescent Lake, Ash Hollow, the John Hollman gravesite and finish up with a ride on the Arnett Express.
Ron Shearer thanked everyone that voted in the primary election.
Airport: The snow removal equipment is on a stand still due to grant monies stating the equipment needs to be made in the United States.
4th of July - Faces of Freedom is the theme. Needing ideas and volunteers for the float. It was suggested that in the future, try to get the high school art students to help with this during the year.
Todd Royston will go to Lincoln and pick up the fireworks, is looking to borrow an enclosed trailer. The fireworks stand will be opened on June 25th and we're looking for volunteers to help sell the fireworks. Thank You Kathleen Lloyd for helping find us volunteers.
There will be advertisements run in the newspaper for the 4th of July events.
Both museums will be open on the 4th
Auditorium renovation open house will be on the 4th
Midwest Pyrotechniques is also needing 3-4 people to help with the wiring of the fireworks. Contact Todd Royston if interested, it should be a great learning opportunity for people interested in electronic fireworks displays.
Carol Lake was given the floor to discuss the signage on the East and West sides of Oshkosh. These signs are not in very good shape (shake roof has blown off and wood is deteriorating) and she would like ideas on upgrades/painting. Anderson Sign Company out of Ogallala has given a bid for both signs. Dr. Newman is checking with the Lions Club and Carol will be getting new bids for sign replacement with keeping the uprights and just replacing the signage.
It has been suggested that the Chamber brochures be updated. Jean Jensen is applying for a grant for this and there are people working on the revisions at this time.
Carol Lake announced this years Western Nebraska Treasure Trek is in the planning stages now and needs people who are interested in advertising to contact her prior to June 16th. This event can include garage sales, antique sales and flee markets to name a few.
There is a concern on the road construction with pilot cars for the 7 mile stretch having an impact on businesses. Will look into contacts to see if something can be changed.
Terri O'Brien moved to adjourn and Mike O'Brien seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:29 p.m.
Next meeting will he held on Thursday, July 17th, location to be determined.
Respectfully Submitted,
Renee Albee, Secretary
