Regular Meeting Minutes
June 15, 2006

The Chamber met at SnS Restaurant with 10 members in attendance. President Carol Lake called the meeting to order at 7:32 PM. Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed. Bonnie Eckles moved to accept the minutes, seconded by Susan Hattendorf. Motion carried. Bonnie Eckles presented the Treasurer's report.

The Girl's State Representative presentation will be given at the August meeting. Acknowledged a thank you from Kyle O'Brien for receiving the Chamber Scholarship. Volunteers are needed to call members for meeting reminders and dinner reservations. Please let Carol know if you can help.

July 4 Holiday discussion/preparations:

• Theme reminder: Have a "Hey-Day" in Garden County
• New event - 1st Annual Garden County Independence Day Car and Bike Show. There will also be a "Freedom To Do What You Want" Poker Run in the afternoon. For more information on either of these events, contact John or Trish Davison at 772-0194 or visit www.gardencone.com.
• Fireworks Stand will be set up for business at the Shady Rest Motel on June 24. Hours will be 1 - 4:30PM and 4:30 - 7PM, everyday. Volunteers are needed to man the booth, please contact Carol.
• The float needs new skirting and letters. Please contact Carol or Nathan Loyd if you would like to help on this committee.
• Arrangements have been finalized with Oshkosh Feedyard for the BBQ meat. The BBQ will be as usual, next to the park immediately following the parade.
• The Alumni Dance will be held at the Oshkosh Auditorium beginning at 8:30 PM, July 1. There is a $5.00 cover change per person for those who have not pre-registered. Jim Dandy Rice and The Final Round will be playing. The SnS Restaurant will have a beer garden and the Chamber will host a concession stand. Please contact Janet Shaul or Susan Hattendorf to help with concession stand. The TeamMates mentoring program plans to raffle a collectible "OGS Cubs" shirt and lined jacket, to benefit the scholarship fund.
• The Chamber is also co-hosting a street dance with the Eagles Club on July 3.
• Nathan Loyd has volunteered to head up the clean-up committee.
• There will be 50 special fireworks cones on sale for the "Family Display". A signal - Fire Whistle - will be blown to signal residents when to ignite them.
• Informational items were shared by the Alumni Committee and Western Trails Scenic & Historic ByWays Committees. The ByWays Committee reminds us of the chance to support and greet bikers on their way to Sturgis during the week beginning August 4. There will be no meeting in July.
